ALERT: Friday Jan 13 2012 - Outage
It is "Friday the 13th" and here early AM there is a system wide outage due to a QC upstream provider outage. (next guy in the chain to getting "out of the sticks") Suspect it will be fixed, something that major, before any of you may notice but for those looking for something to do this very cold morning...hang in there or check out some of the local toys here in the sticks while you do:

Well we just got out our checkbook and UPGRADED to a cloud based system. We already had near 100 fold higher capacity then we all were using. Now we have another 5 times that PLUS on the cloud can flex and double or quadruple at will if need be !!!
GIGANTIC OVERKILL and likely all you noticed was email (to avoid lost mail) was shut down for around 24 hours on Saturday (and your inboxes) were mirrored over the cloud system. Actually websites would be one then the other so never notice the switch, but to be safe everything synced over to the new cloud it is just safer to shut down email service to let the world get that critical bit all in sync. Nothing would be lost, email will try for days anyway and just fell into the right spot once it was safe to turn that service back on.
ALERT: Oct 30/31 2011 - eMAIL/WEBSERVER
Saturday about 6 pm (yesterday) apparently spooks caused a hard drive to fail on all www.WestILMall.com accounts (which includes WestIL.net email for sure). Here Sunday at 2 PM tech support has rebuilt the system (RAID based multi drive systems are wonderful for failure recovery however there is nothing fast about formatting and rebuilding RAID arrays)
Naturally if you missed all that, it reoccurred at the worst possible time (Monday AM naturally). Fixed now. We just upgraded to the newest available now ! (see alert above)
ALERT: FIREWALL - TIP
And remember as always: you just like actual hackers, will both be put off on the firewall if you attempt to "guess" your email password.If email fails AND you can not surf to www.WestIL.net but you can surf to any other website ... odds are good your IP got banned. Give it a bit to be sure it is not just the Internet, then call me. I can compare it to the firewall list and get you back (it is a big bad world with a vary long list otherwise)
Also be aware we have found checking email every minute (60 times an hour) WILL get you firewalled. It is arguably server abuse/overload albeit not really a "hack". Point is not just guessing your password is all that might trigger it.

Note above info is your "in network" IP# here, IE what you need on a multi PC router system when moving from a single PC install yourself. The outside-looking-in IP# that tunnels and protects residential users is the one WestIL.net sees and the one needed when removing a number from the banned list.
If you can use our IP tool: ip.westil.net, then you are not firewalled from email. It is something else wrong there.
